In order for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable Ultimate season, please read and observe the following:
Ultimate is a NON-CONTACT SPORT. It is a sport of finesse, athleticism and respect. SPIRIT OF THE GAME is the overriding principle of Ultimate. Competitive play is encouraged but never at the expense of the bond of mutual respect between players. This is a co-ed league with players varying in a wide range of age and abilities. We want everyone to have a safe, fun season. Ultimate is truly a team sport. Experienced players should be patient and help new players gain an understanding of the rules. Utilizing all of the players on your team is essential.
Parents, please be sure transportation is arranged to and from the fields. We will not be responsible for any player not picked up by 5:15pm. Parents are encouraged to come out and observe the games and cheer on your team. Ultimate stresses good sportsmanship and fair play of the players and we would expect nothing less from the spectators. Bring your own lawn chairs or blanket to sit on.
Parents and players please be advised: There are NO shelters at the Crittenden Road ball fields. In case of thunder/lightning storms, players should return to their cars. Players should NOT stay out on the fields and keep playing once lightning is spotted. Disregarding this will cause your team to forfeit. If after 20 minutes, lightning persists, games will be cancelled and rescheduled if possible.
We DO, however, play in rain, snow, and wind, so dress appropriately (layers work best). Call the GRADA hotline at 234-TOSS for game cancellations if weather is severe.
Equipment: We recommend wearing cleats. Soccer or other cleats are fine (no metal spikes, no track shoes). You may want to bring a dry change of clothes and/or a plastic bag to sit on in the car in case it's muddy. Also, please bring a light and a dark color shirt (some of the teams colors are similar).
